Fabryan’s Fashion Diary – MALTA FASHION WEEK.
Day One – Fersani Show
Samantha -Jane and I arrived at Malta’s international airport on Thursday 9th May to be greeted by the lovely Lisa Schembri. It was a very important visit for Fabryan as they were showcasing at Mercedes Benz’s Malta Fashion Week 2013.
The Fabyran team were made to feel very welcome at the Corinthia hotel, one of the sponsors of the fashion week. After taking in the beautiful maltese surroundings, Samantha-Jane and her small team including me spent their evening at the Maria Rosa Winery for the outdoor, vineyard catwalk of the Fersani Collection. This was a perfect location for a collection that sought references from nature. This made us very excited to show our collection the next day.
Day Two International Designers Show.
May 10th was the day of Malta Fashion Week’s International Designer’s show. It was a great honour for Fabryan to showcase their collection at the astonishing Auberge de Castille, the residence of Malta’s Prime Ministerial and Parliamentary Offices.
Fabryan had a very busy afternoon backstage dressing the models Later that evening, Samantha-Jane sent out a diversity of pieces. She opened her show with a much adored little black dress. Fabryan loves the versatile nature of little black dresses and believe each woman should have one hanging in her wardrobe.
Followed by peplum styled pieces and pencil skirts, the audience were transported to the 1950’s – an era of elegance and glamour.
It was a sophisticated show that was well suited for great architectural surroundings that transcended true grandeur. The shoes were provided by Aldo, an official sponsor for Malta Fashion Week. The jewellery was by Jerboa. Watch out for the collaboration between Jerboa and Fabryan for our SS14 collection.
After the show, there was a beautiful and intimate party in the courtyard. All guests, the hosts, designers and models all found themselves enjoying the evening and discussing the shows by the scenic foundation that took centre display in the gardens.
Samantha –Jane was also honoured to be personally greeted by Malta’s Prime Minister’s wife, Michelle Muscat who loved Fabryan’s show.

Day Three – Part I – Photo shoot
Following the previous night’s fashion events, Fabryan took off to the beach for a photoshoot with Steve Muliett and his team. The morning was spent under clear beautiful blue skies at the rocky beach. It was perfect.
The shoot was primarily for Fabryan’s new exciting Spring Summer 2014 campaign so watch this space for Fabryan’s gorgeous images. (Sorry, no sneak peeks yet)!
However, Fabryan also used the opportunity to shoot some of their much loved couture pieces.
Our emerald…. dress complimented the scenes of the blazing blue skies and sea. Our dress celebrates the female body and most importantly, a woman’s shoulder. This was a trend that was signature to London’s Fashion Week Daily newspaper.
The shoot was also inspired by swan like poses. This was perfect for Fabryan’s Melissa white swan inspired dress. It was an Apollonian affair at the beach for Fabryan.
Fabryan loved working at the beach and would like to thank the team for all their hard work:
Day Three – Part II – MALTA FASHION AWARDS
After a day of shooting in the sun, it was time for Fashion Awards. It was Mecedes Benz’s Fashion Awards 15th Anniversary that provided a grand conclusion to Malta Fashion Week 2013 at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre. An event that was sponsored by Vodafone and Diet Coke, Malta welcomed thousands of fashion guests to enjoy the emerging fashion talent both on the island, and internationally. Fabryan was privileged to be able to showcase as one of the international designers at Malta’s red carpet fashion finale.
We entered the awards on the impressive red carpet. Samantha –Jane, the designer and founder of Fabryan wore one of her 1950’s glamour inspired dresses that featured in Fabryan’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection to the evening. I also wore a hand sequin dress by FABRYAN

Samantha- Jane sent out ten of her much loved couture dresses onto the extravagant catwalk. The evening ended with a spectacular fashion after party. Fabryan was absolutely delighted and privileged to be a part of Malta’s Fashion Awards. The evening was the best conclusion to Fabryan’s visit to Malta.
